Games

Our Games Director Stephanie plans an awesome week of games both on the games field and at the waterfront. Each day campers get to play as a part of their huddle in three games on the games field and one game at the waterfront. These games focus on teamwork and sportsmanship rather than skill and winning. We don’t have winners and losers, only huddles that are ahead or behind when time runs out. Check out the pictures below to see some of the wild & crazy games. Notice all the smiles and cheering going on.

Water Relay

During this game, contestants had to weave through cones while carrying a cup of water in their teeth or on their heads. Watch out! Don’t get wet.

Noodle Hockey

A twist on traditional hockey. Instead of ice and skates – tennis shoes and grass. Instead of a puck – a huge beach ball. Instead of hockey sticks – pool noodles. Put it together and you get an irresistibly fun game.

Kick Ball

Watch carefully as the ball is rolled to the next batter. As the batter winds up, the outfield prepares to catch the ball. Run fast around the bases before the ball gets back to the pitcher.

Beach Towel Volleyball

Instead of bumping the volleyball over the net by yourself, in this game partners work together to catch and toss the volleyball (or water balloon) using a beach towel. Teamwork is key to getting the ball over the net to score a point.

Tarp Relay

Directions are easy: Use the tarp to transport your entire huddle from one side of the field to the other. Execution is hard: no one on the tarp can touch the ground.

Potato Sack Kick Ball

The batter kicks the ball to outfielders anxiously waiting to catch the ball. Only problem is that the outfield must hop in a potato sack to retrieve the ball as it rolls past their outstretched arms.

Before and after each game, huddles gather to pray, asking God for his presence in the game, for good sportsmanship, and for safety and fun.
